Christmas Tree festival
St Margaret's Church brought visitors to Lyng on the weekend of December 11 and 12 when the now traditional Christmas Tree Festival took place. But unlike many other such displays this one is about miniature and small trees.
Children at the village school showed skills in paper, straw (drinking and real) as well as pipe cleaners paint and all manner of recycled items. Older hands knitted assiduously while others showed an extraordinary range and invention to produce a delightful display.
Despite the freezing temperatures (it seemed colder in the church than outside) visitors arrived in a steady stream, proving the value of this annual community activity. Probably too many people to thank but Julie Stevens and Shirley Broad were highly visible workers.
The pictures show just a selection of the handiwork on show.
